MOPS & MOMSnext
We are on a mission to celebrate motherhood.
We build circles of women who love each other like family, because raising humans is beautiful and hard, and having each other to lean on is life-giving. That’s why we connect moms all over the Sacramento area to a community of women who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of being a mom.
This is motherhood, and together we can change the world in all the best ways.
What is MOPS & MOMSnext?
MOPS is open to ANY mother of children, birth through kindergarten.
- When you're wading though diapers and sleepless nights
- When all of your kid's needs are on you
- When you're isolated and in need of community and support
MOMSnext is open to ANY mother of school-aged children (1st-12th grade)
- When we’re past the diaper years and sleeping through the night…
- When we’re meeting more emotional needs than physical ones…
- When our kids are transitioning from dependance to independence
While we all meet together, you will be seated at a table specific to the stage of motherhood you find yourself in. If you happen to be in both stages of motherhood, let us know which group you would like to sit with when you register.
Who can be in MOPS & MOMSnext?
Moms - if you are pregnant or have kids birth through school-aged MOPS & MOMSnext is for you. Stepmom, adoptive mom, birth mom, foster mom, working mom, stay at home mom - all types of moms are welcome!
What is this year's theme?
Here at MOPS, we choose a theme to rally around each year—a theme that inspires, encourages, and speaks into our mothering journeys. This week, we unveiled our brand-new theme (You can watch the reveal video HERE.) for the next year, and we are obsessed.
After a year spent hunkering down, living smaller, and experiencing a little more fear and anxiety than usual, we are declaring this is the year of going big. It’s a year of fresh starts and turning ordinary experiences into extraordinary ones. Enthusiasm will replace worry. Friendship will replace loneliness. No longer will we wait to “get back to normal”; instead, we will start making space for the new things God has for us. We will become less guarded and more daring because this is our year to live ALL FOR LOVE.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (ESV)
Love is the most powerful force on the planet, and yet the concept almost seems cliché. We tell somebody we love them, and in the same breath we talk about how much we love a new podcast. Perhaps we’ve become so accustomed to the word that we’ve forgotten how revolutionary it is, how God’s love changes everything. It is life-altering, curse-lifting and, as shown in Christ’s resurrection, quite literally death-conquering.
This year we embrace the transformative power of love, to the point where it starts to affect everything we do—the way we talk to our kids, interact with strangers, handle disappointments, celebrate victories, make decisions.
When love floods into our lives, everything shifts. It results in less doom-scrolling, more conversation. Less comparison, more community. Less fear, more confidence. More over-the-top displays of compassion. More patience. More life in our souls. This year, love will save us. In fact, it already has, because love’s name is Jesus.
This is the year of big things. Love is starting to fling open doors, and when love comes into the room, no one is safe.
Comfort zones crumble,
Relationships are born,
Fear is cast out,
Whimsy is restored,
Perspectives shift,
Ready or not, here it comes …
Consider this your official invitation to join us as we explore what it means to live ALL FOR LOVE!

What does a MOPS & MOMSnext gathering look like?
We meet bi-weekly on Thursdays. There are about 60 women in our group; every mom has a table of about 8 women that they sit with each week so you have the chance to build great friendships. These tables all have a Mentor Mom- a mom with grown kids, who is there to be a listening ear and support to you in this amazing season of life.
Each table of women takes turns bringing brunch to share with the other tables, your table will bring brunch only once or twice a semester, all the other weeks you get a fabulous brunch that you didn't have to cook or clean up after! After brunch we have time either having an activity and craft, or hearing from a guest speaker or a MOPS International speaker video. Some of the topics that our guest speakers cover range from parenting and marriage, finances and health, self-care, friendship and many other topics relevant to your mom life.
Our main goal in our weekly gathering is for you to find support, encouragement and friendship with other moms as you face the challenges and joys of motherhood together - you don't have to do this alone.
